Aloe & Maple Face Mask

This isn’t something we’ve tried, but bloggers here (with videos!) and here report excellent results with this face mask.  It stands to reason—maple syrup has known quantities of plant-based antioxidents known as polyphenols.  In addition, maple syrup is hygroscopic, meaning that it attracts and retains moisture in skin.  Maple syrup also increases the solubility of other ingredients, amplifying the moisturizing properties of the aloe vera.

This simple face mask is easy to make.  Simply combine 1 teaspoon of pure maple syrup with 1 teaspoon of aloe vera gel.  Apply the mask with a brush or your fingers, massaging gently.  Let stand for approximately 15-20 minutes.  The mask will dry and harden.  Rinse with warm water.  Your skin will feel soft and smooth!
